5 Second Review: Bella on DVD

Bella is the most cliche-ridden, poorly constructed film about a pregnant waitress with no prospects that I’ve attempted to watch since attempting to watch Waitress last year.  (And Waitress had much better writing, which is saying something because Waitress bored me to tears.)

We only got through watching the first half-hour before it got offensively bad and just plain offensive.  It’s not really worth forming a written argument against its heavy-handed, oversimplified anti-woman and anti-abortion messages – but only really because it’s so fucking predictable, I felt like I had asked for it by indulging it past the first five minutes.   If you have any critical thinking skills whatsoever, I can’t imagine how you could enjoy this movie.

  • Ugh, I hate that I spent any piece of my life trying to watch that movie. Even if I were anti-choice, I’d hate it for being so cliche. It felt so passive aggressive. I hate that crap.
